WIN: A Weekend Break at Llamedos Holiday Cottage
The UK is home to some of the most beautiful scenery, and it appears we Brits love it so much that we’re opting for a staycation rather than flying abroad to relax. Research by holiday rental company Sykes Cottages revealed that North Wales was one of the top three regions for holiday bookings in 2018.
Planning a staycation in the UK is more relaxed and can be much less stressful - no passports to worry about and no rushed car journeys to the airport. Instead, you can take in the beauty of Britain as you travel to your destination.
Don't miss your chance to WIN your own staycation, at Llamedos Holiday Cottage; a modern mid-terrace property on the lower slopes of the Great Orme, within easy reach of the Victorian holiday seaside resort of Llandudno.*
To be in with a chance of winning a weekend break, all you have to do is Like the post on our Facebook page and leave a Comment, letting us know where you would like to visit, during your stay. Full terms and Conditions can be found at the end of this article.*
Don't worry if you are not the lucky winner of our prize draw, as we’ve gathered three must-drive roads for your next UK road trip:
Cliff Road | Cheddar Gorge
Located in the Mendip Hills lies a true British beauty - a limestone gorge called Cheddar Gorge. The Gorge is a stone’s throw from the village of Cheddar - home to the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company. Not only is it an excellent place for cheese lovers - the Gorge itself is a sight to behold - and you don’t even have to leave your car.
Drive along the B3135 which, if driving towards Cheddar Village, will take you past the Gorge and Gough’s Cave. Park in the nearby car park to explore the caves, maybe play some mini-golf and take in the surroundings before continuing with your road trip.
Sally in the Wood | Bathford
If you’re into your ghost stories, you might like to travel down a road that sits between Claverton and Bathford - the commuter village for Bath. Taking the A363 towards the A4, named locally and on Google Maps as Sally in the Wood, keep driving until you enter the forest section.
Sally in the Wood is widely known as one of the most haunted roads in the UK. Read all about the spooky story before you head down - just in case it’s too much for you to handle! Legend has it, Sally’s Cave is the epicentre of this activity - do you dare explore?
Watch as a reporter from Somerset Live films the route below:
Llanberis Pass | Snowdonia National Park
Taking the A4086 from Capel Curig and let the road be your scenic tour guide as it takes you around the stunning sights of Snowdonia National Park - first driving past Llynnau Mymbyr - a lake 30-feet deep to your left, the road meanders and continues to your right.
Continue following the road and take in your surroundings as you drive - you can expect to see the rocky scenery shown below. As you approach another lake to your right, Llyn Peris, you’ll start to see signs for the Snowdon Mountain Railway. The railway offers visitors the chance to reach the summit of Mount Snowdon without walking - at the top you can enjoy the picturesque outlook.
That’s enough bragging from us here at Lindop Toyota - with our two branches located in Wrexham and Queensferry - we can’t get enough of North Wales, either!
If you’re in the market for a used car in North Wales - look no further than us here at Lindop Toyota. We offer all of our customers a full Toyota technical check and a fast and secure buying process which means buying your next vehicle will be a stress-free and hassle-free experience.
